Use: Excellent for sweet, deep-red roots and tender greens.

Planting

  • Sow Depth: ½–¾ inch deep

  • Row Spacing: 12–24 inches apart

  • Thin Seedlings: 2–4 inches apart for desired root size

​

When to Sow

  • Spring: As soon as soil can be worked.

  • Fall: Up to 6–8 weeks before first frost.

  • Best germination: Soil temps 55–75°F.
