Farmshare Austin is seeking

new board members!


We are looking to create a diverse Board of Directors representative of folks who are committed to
advancing the mission of Farmshare Austin, who bring a strong equity lens to our organization, who
reflect the age, gender, racial, and ethnic diversity that make up Central Texas, and who have

professional expertise in fields such as banking, real estate or law.


This is a great opportunity to serve on the board of a growing local organization that is committed to

building a healthier local food economy in Central Texas.

Board Responsibilities and Duties

  • Farmshare is looking for board expertise in the areas of banking, real estate, and law, to advise on all of the organization’s efforts, but particularly as we expand program areas to address equitable access to farmland.

  • The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications, but we encourage all who are interested to reach out:

    • Experience with land leasing or purchasing and financing a plus

    • Previous experience with non-profit financing and regulatory compliance

    • Previous Board Experience 

    • Fluency in Spanish

  • The Board of Directors meets every other month and each board member participates in a committee which meets in the interim months.

  • Board members have a financial commitment of $2,000 which can be fulfilled through a combination of a donation in the partial or full amount, providing donated time to the organization, or gathered through fundraising efforts from matching gifts or in-kind donations.
