South Texas born but located in Central Texas for his formative and adult years, Corbin is passionate about the access to nutrient-dense foods and the interactions between people and their food systems. He unexpectedly found his way to horticulture through "retirement planning"! Expecting to want and need to stay active in his older age, he thought that casual gardening would be a hobby that could accommodate his propensity to try 100 different things at once and wasn't too punishing on failure (since you can always grow again). Post-pandemic he realized he didn't need to wait out corporate life before his world could bloom.
From there, he found Farmshare Austin and is a proud graduate of the Farmer Starter (Fall 2021) program. This laid the foundation for Yallidarity Farms, combining "Y'all" and "Solidarity" due to his belief that good comes from working together. Seeing the cultivation of the Earth as a cultivation of the self and that we are reflections of the world we want to see, he is proud to grow vegetables that are as healthy for the land as they are for the people that eat them through sustainable stewardship and holistic management practices.
Corbin can be found slinging delicious vegetables and herbs around Austin, but feel free to greet him at Q2 Stadium, your favorite watering hole during football season, or when volunteering on the weekends with the Travis County Master Gardeners. He's prone to laughing at (his own) farmer jokes, loves to exchange stories and gardening tips, and will readily share if asked "what do you think about...".
